NOTICE OF REFERENDUM
TAKE NOTICE THAT a referendum vote will be held by secret ballot to determine if a majority of the electors of the ‘Namgis First Nation are in favour of, and assent to:
The Revocation of the 1947 Timber Surrender and the Designation of all of Lot 1 of Ches-la-kee Indian Reserve No. 3, as shown on Plan of Survey 105708 deposited in the Canada Lands Surveys Records, Ottawa, Ontario, containing approximately 7.64 hectares (18.88 acres), on the terms set out in Annex “A” to the Notice of Referendum.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT the question to be submitted to the electors is:
Are you in favour of, and do you approve of the Revocation of the 1947 Timber Surrender, and the Designation of Lot 1, for the purposes set out in Annex “A” to the Notice of Referendum signed by the Electoral Officer and dated February 20, 2017?
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT the referendum will be held on
April 6th, 2017 and the electors may vote between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., local time, at a polling station located at the following location:
Elders’ Centre, 50 School Road, Alert Bay BC, VON 1AO
