TREATMENT CENTRE PROGRAM MANAGER
Job Summary: ‘Namgis First Nation is seeking a forward-thinking program administrator to head a 15-bed, 6-week residential substance abuse treatment centre on the northeast coast of Vancouver Island. Reporting to the Health Centre Administrator, the incumbent will provide forward-looking, consistent and timely leadership, direction and support to a full staff contingent of counsellors, attendants, cooks and other support staff, ensuring that program and administrative goals and objectives are successfully achieved.
Job Duties:
- Managing the day-to-day operations including overseeing NNADAP client intake, treatment and discharge
- Leading and supervising treatment centre staff including performance management, coaching, mentoring and development
- Developing and maintaining an operations policies and procedures manual that meets the requirements of funding agreements, accreditation standards
- Developing and administering the annual operating budget according to ‘Namgis financial policies including the Financial Administration Law (FAL) and other related guidelines
- Monitoring expenditures and revenues to ensure budget expectations targets are met and that appropriate inventory controls are in place according to financial control guidelines as amended from time to time
- Establishing and maintaining good standing status with Accreditation Canada regularly and as required
- Ensuring that the treatment centre is evaluated according to the terms of the contribution agreement and that issues as identified in evaluation reports are addressed and resolved in a timely and effective manner
Job Qualifications:
- University degree in business/public/health administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum three years’ previous administrative/management and leadership experience in a health/social services program related capacity
- Living and practicing a healthy lifestyle is strongly preferred
- Certification by a recognized Canadian alcohol and drug certification body is an asset
- Previous experience working in a First Nations environment
- Intermediate computer skills particularly with Microsoft Officer applications
- Superior communication skills, verbal and written, with reports, briefing notes, memos, presentations, facilitation, etc.
