FIRE BAN Effective 2018-July-18th

In Effect July 18, 2018

(unless otherwise notified by Min. of Forest, Lands and Natural Resources)

 Anyone found with an open burning fire may by issued a ticket for $1,150, required to pay administrative penalty of $10,000 or if convicted in court, fined up to $100,000 and/or sentenced to One year in jail. In the result of a wildfire, the person responsible may be ordered to pay ALL Firefighting and associated costs.

The following is prohibited:

  • Campfires
  • Category 2 & 3 Open Fired
  • Outdoor stoves
  • Fireworks/Firecrackers
  • Burning Barrels
  • Tiki Torches, Sky Lanterns, Binary Exploding Targets

 

THIS INCLUDES BURNING GARBAGE ON ‘NAMGIS AND WHE-LA-LA-U RESERVES.
