Contest for Aboriginal Parents – Win $50!
Do you have a funny or inspiring story about your experience as a parent? Write it down, send it in, and you could win $50! A photo is worth $20!
The National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health (NCCAH) wants to know about the diversity and strength of Aboriginal families in British Columbia. Stories should be 350-500 words in length, written in a simple style that highlights positive parenting. In addition to stories, you can also submit photos, artwork or cartoons!
Submissions will be included in four health promotion booklets on Aboriginal parenting. Booklets will tell parents what they should expect during each stage of a child's development, from birth to 6 years. The special focus areas are:
· Fatherhood
· Parents as teachers and caregivers
· Physical activity and nutrition
· Attachment: Strengthening family connections
