There is a permanent full-time position being offered at Tʼlisalagiʼlakw School. It is currently accepting applications for a Custodian. This is a full-time position for the 2011-12 school year with the possibility of continuity.

This is a band operated independent (Group 2) school. It enrolls 82 students from Nursery to Grade 7. It employs 21 staff members (8 teachers). The average class size is 15. The facility is modern and was built in 1994. The school is very fortunate to have good, caring people on its staff. There is excellent continuity in the staff, and the school is experiencing growth in all areas. There is great support from the parents, Band Council, and the School Board Authority.

Custodian

Qualifications include:

* Grade 12 completion an asset but not required

* Previous experience an asset

* A love for people, especially children

* Good physical condition as job requires some heavy lifting (up to 20 kg) and machine operation

* Work conditions: work under pressure, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, combination of sitting, walking, standing, bending, crouching, kneeling

* WHMIS Certificate desirable

* Good organizational, problem solving and communication skills

* Positive interaction with students, parents, staff and other community members

* A team player willing to work with a dedicated staff

* Reliable and flexible (job requires working flexible hours, ie. evenings and some holidays)

* Criminal Record Check required
